My dad was born 87 years ago today.
I envision Dad spending his birthday having coffee with Mom and sharing some quality time with Maggie, their beloved pug.
Memories continue to sustain me and for that, I am eternally grateful.
~Happy Birthday, Dad~
What a wonderful way to remember them.
ReplyDeleteI asked Paulette if she could make my 'Nan and Pop' for me, but sadly she couldn't said she doesn't do them any more.
Oh, I am so sorry Paulette was unable to make your Nan and Pop! I think I was at the right place at the right time...
DeleteWhat a sweet post! My Dad's birthday is the 19th. He will turn 80. We are blessed to still have him, although mama waits for him in heaven.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for the memories! God is so good!
God is so abundantly good! My thoughts are with you, dear Carolyn...
DeleteI find it remarkable, after seeing these doll likenesses that Paulette did, that she ever did them in the first place. Imagine having the patience? The various likenesses she did of your family must be very precious.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad will be 94 next month but with the dementia you can't really give him things. Still, he is finally our of bed and in a wheelchair for part of the day, and he seems to enjoy the company in the nursing home. He was much lonelier than we knew.
My Mom's waiting for him too Carolyn.
Yes, Paulette is an amazing artist and really, her dolls are the heart of Hittyville.
DeleteDementia is so difficult...Both my parents suffered from that at the very end of their lives and it was heartbreaking. My mom lived only 9 months after my dad passed away. She couldn't live with him...or without him. :-) My thoughts are with you during this challenging time.
