Cowgirls For A Day

Annette announces to Poppy that today is a very special day.

On this day, in 1860, Phoebe Ann Oakley...better known as Annie Oakley...was born in Drake County, Ohio.
Annie was a master markswoman with a pistol, rifle, and shotgun.
This talented lady traveled with Wild Bill's Wild West Show and was the star!

The girls don't own or use guns, but Annette has an idea of how they can celebrate Annie Oakley's birthday.

At The Hittyville Stables...

Tex tells the girls he remembers stories of the famous sharpshooter riding a big black horse.

Annette and Poppy are imagining they are Wild West Cowgirls and singing Happy Birthday to Annie Oakley at the top of their lungs.

Maybe...just maybe...Annie can hear them.
