On This Day

Bella Merry has gathered her daughters together to learn about a very amazing American.

On this day in 1884, Eleanor Roosevelt was born.  She married the future president, Franklin D. Roosevelt and became a much beloved First Lady.
Mrs. Roosevelt was a champion for racial justice and and civil liberties.
After her husband's passing, Eleanor Roosevelt was appointed to the United Nations delegation.

The Merry Girls are awfully quiet after their mother's lesson.

And then...
Gracie Rose announces she is going to be a champion of lost animals...in the spirit of Mrs. Roosevelt.

Poppy is going to create a paper doll of the First Lady when she was a little girl.

Daisy wants to read every book she can find about Mrs. Roosevelt.

Gemma will definitely name her next doll...Eleanor!

Bea and Baby are going to have a tea party in honor of the Birthday First Lady.

It was a day to celebrate a great American, Eleanor Roosevelt!
