To Thine Own Self Be True

This is the way I like it...Hittyville filled with ALL the Friends and my own free artistic license!
Without being too specific, I decided to leave the Waltons group on Facebook and return to posting my stories on my own blog only.  It is truly amazing how unkind people can be with their comments and I find that behavior totally unacceptable.  Mind you, there were just a few...but what is the saying about one bad apple?  I prefer peace and harmony...
I wish ALL the fans of The Waltons could be as wonderful as you, dear Hittyville Visitors!
Now...back to Hittyville...as usual!

  1. Hey Vicki, I haven't been around for a bit. I was sorry to hear about your group experience. In my observation (such things have happened to me as well) there are some people who take enthusiasm and vociferousness on a subject as a know-it-all or aggressive attitude, or a bid for attention or group domination. Actually, for curious people like you and I, we are just keen to vacuum in knowledge and learn and try things. Other people tend to view this as alarmingly pushy or something. Do you see what I mean?

It doesn't work, so best to keep your joy and do your own thing in your own way. The spark of being around other people and talking about a beloved subject is enticing, but the bullies often don't like intelligent enthusiasm. I like to be enthused about things, it brings a lot of delight to living. Keep that safe!!

    1. Hi Judy! I have missed your intelligent and articulate comments! I think you are spot on about your observation of group dynamics. I agree we need to keep our joy safe and be true to our authentic selves which is what I am doing..and you obviously are as well! Thanks for checking in...

  2. Judy always manages to write so articulately that which I am thinking but struggling to put into words and sentences and she sums up some group dynamics so succinctly. I am glad you are continuing on this blog in your own style and enthusiasm which is contagious and wonderful. It is always a joy to read your posts even if I don't always comment...trying to cut down on time spent on this dratted computer, although not always succeeding!

    1. Judy is such a gifted wordsmith! And Lorraine, you express yourself beautifully as well! I find that doing one blog fills my heart with joy and most other forms of internet activity steals time away from my beloved projects. Thank you for kind and encouraging words, dear friend...

  3. Hi Vicki, this is Patrick Manley from the Walton's facebook web site. I was the person who had GRANDPA WALTON as my photo. I was waiting to see your next adventure with your new Waltons Dolls but when I didn't see you on the site anymore I knew something was wrong. I loved your postings and I always commented positively about your Waltons family adventures but I do know why you left and I don't blame you but I do MISS YOU. I hope you keep posting more adventures here on this site because I think they are so cool. Thanks and i'll miss ya, Patrick

    1. Oh Patrick, you have made my day!!! You were the one person I looked forward to hearing from and I always envisioned you looking like Grandpa Walton because of the picture. I am so pleased you took the time to write me and yes, you did say and still do say very nice things! The Waltons will be spending some time with their Hittyville Friends, but I will strive to keep their characters as much like their TV counterparts as I can. I am on Season 3 of the series and love the stories with all my heart...I know you understand. Now we don't have to miss each other because I am always here and I hope you comment now and then. Thank you again for finding me...and the Waltons!
      Your Friend...Vicki
