Poppy's Dad Day

At least once a year each of the Merry children spend an entire day alone with their mom and another day alone with their dad.  With such a large family, it is important to have some one on one time for child and parent alike!
Today, Poppy and her father have decided to go to Put-in-Bay for their special day together.  The Merry Family lived on this wonderful little island many years ago.

It looks like Thomas and Poppy missed the ferry to the island of Put-in-Bay.

Thomas reassures his daughter another ferry is on its way and they have just about enough time for an ice cream cone at the concession stand before their transportation arrives.

Finally!  Poppy and Thomas are on the ferry and enjoying the view.

It is a busy day on Put-in-Bay because of the holiday and there is just one golf cart left for getting around the island.
Thank goodness, Poppy and her dad were able to claim it!

Thomas asks Poppy if she would like to visit the Butterfly House.
Poppy loves butterflies!

This butterfly and Poppy sure do have something in common...orange!

Poppy has worked up an appetite and would love some of The Boardwalk's delicious lobster bisque!

Now for a walk along the dock...

Poppy and Thomas stopped by the Visitor's Center and were happily surprised to hear patriotic music being played by an excellent orchestra!

The Peace Memorial has recently been renovated and the flags of the three countries involved in the Battle of Lake Erie, which took place right here in Put-in-Bay, create quite a spectacular sight.

Time to return the golf cart and catch the last ferry back to the mainland...and Hittyville!

This father and daughter agree...It was the best of days!
