The Happy River Friends ask Mole and Ratty why they are wearing those funny green hats.
Mole explains Lucky the Leprechaun made them official Leprechauns for the day which means watching over Lucky's pot of gold until he is finished with his St. Patrick's Day duties.
Lucky hopes to find Lewis and give him a little pinch for not wearing green on this special day. Lewis has vowed NEVER to give up his beloved YELLOW for green...even on St. Patrick's Day, when he is at risk for a pinch from Lucky the Leprechaun.
Meanwhile...at Lewis' Homestead...
Hitty Rose insists Lewis wear the green hat until sunset so he won't run the risk of being pinched on St. Patrick's Day.
She heard through the grapevine Lucky the Leprechaun is determined to teach Lewis a lesson about not wearing green on his special day.
Lewis cannot imagine any Leprechaun worth his salt pinching a YELLOW loving Hittyville Friend, but he will accomodate dear Hitty Rose.
And then...
Lucky the Leprechaun is so excited! He has been waiting all year to pinch Mr. YELLOW who refuses to acknowledge his one rule for St. Patrick's Day which is to wear something...anything green!
Lucky the Leprechaun cannot believe his eyes! Lewis is actually wearing a green hat!
Miracles can happen on St. Patrick's Day.
And now...back to his pot of gold.
