Poppy chose the Seine River for her Letter S Page. This beautiful river flows under 37 bridges within the city of Paris.
Eloise accompanied Poppy to the Tuileries Gardens...perfect for the Letter T Page. Tuileries is a public garden established in 1564 as a palace garden.
Eloise enjoyed the flowers while Poppy looked forward to a ride on the Ferris Wheel!
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier located at the base of the Arc de Triomphe was Poppy's Letter U Page selection.
Poppy thanked the Unknown Soldier for his bravery and sacrifice.
Although the famous Versailles Palace is located just outside of Paris, Poppy felt this magnificent sight was her only choice for the Letter V Page of her Paris Alphabet Book.
The Palace was home to French kings and the cultural heartbeat of Europe from the late 1600's through the French Revolution in the 1780's.
Poppy loved the Hall of Mirrors in the Versailles Palace.
The tour guide told her group the French royalty of that time were very vain and loved looking at themselves.
Becassine gave Poppy the idea of using the Musee Grevin which is a wax museum for the Letter W Page.
Poppy received quite a French history lesson from her Wax Friends.
Poppy was really pleased with her Letter X Page choice. X represents kisses and the Paris Love Lock Bridge just has to be one of the most kissing places in the world!
Poppy loves the story of her own parents having their names engraved on a lock...attaching it to the fence...and throwing the key into the Seine River, symbolizing undying love for one another.
How romantic!
Unfortunately, Bella was unable to find the lock she and Thomas put on the fence many years ago...but knows it is there...somewhere.
Yves Saint Laurent was the obvious choice for the Letter Y Page. Mr. Laurent was a famous French designer and his fashions are still very popular in Paris.
Finally...Poppy cannot believe she is at the end of her Paris Alphabet Book!
Of course, she chose the Zoo de Paris for the Letter Z Page.
Eloise loves the flora in the giant greenhouse.
The giraffes reminded Poppy of Adventure Land in Hittyville and she suddenly became very homesick.
Back at the Loft...
Poppy has all the information she needs to work on her Paris Alphabet Book.
Poppy shares with her mother she wishes they were going home tomorrow.
She misses Dad and her brothers and sisters, her Merry grandparents...and everyone and everything in Hittyville!
Bella admits she is ready to go home as well. Her research is completed and she misses their family with all her heart.
Maybe...
Meanwhile...
Pierre and Eloise are all done with their professional responsibilities and eager to return to Hittyville.
They wonder if Bella, Poppy, and Becassine feel the same way now that the artists are finished with their research and Becassine has visited all her family and friends.
And...
Becassine loves Paris, but Hittyville is her home.
She sure wishes they didn't have to wait another 10 days to fly back to Hittyville.
