1955...It Was a Very Good Year

Poppy and Annette have just finished reading their Historical Event card for the day.

In 1955, Play-Doh was introduced along with instant oatmeal and Crest toothpaste.
Most importantly, the polio vaccine was given to millions of school children some 58 years ago.

And on July 17th of 1955, Disneyland had their grand opening day in Anaheim, California.  This fact is especially meaningful to Annette, because she used to be a Mousketeer and spent many wonderful times in Disneyland.
Annette's Cinderella Doll was a gift from Walt Disney, himself.

Mickey and Minnie sure looked different back in 1955.

Children will always be excited about visiting Disneyland!

1955 was a good year, but Poppy and Annette agree there is no time like the present.
