One of the greatest gifts I have received from doing my blog is the friendship of many Doll Friends. Early this morning, I received an email from the most amazing kindred spirit, Elaine. We share a love for the same type of dolls and then there are our pet guinea pigs!
Elaine mentioned I might like the Travel Friends...7 inch jointed international sweethearts made by Madame Alexander. I had never heard of these cute little girls and proceeded to order the whole set after an online search.
So...thank you, Elaine, for introducing yourself to me and letting me know about the Travel Friends!
~Doll Friends are simply the best~
Another piggie lover, how wonderful! Aren't those dolls just so cute. Must not look, I do NOT need any more dolls!
ReplyDeleteI agree...I do not need any more dolls either...but just lost control! I had to separate Frosty and Potter. Potter was a bit aggressive...which surprised me a bit. I am waiting for a special guinea pig cage to be delivered...I couldn't find any pools this time of year. I like wide open spaces for my piggies...
DeleteSometimes they just need to establish their 'pecking' order....especially when the younger one starts going through 'teenage-hood' ;-) I guess having had so many piggies over the years I got used to leaving them to 'sort themselves' out...they always have except one pair - and they both got paired up with different friends in the end. But you do have to be a little tough and ignore the skirmishes....I have found sows to be far more vicious and cause much worse wounds!
DeleteI love that you give them plenty of space, that is how it should be!
Hi Lorraine! I am a bit nervous about the pecking order because Tuppence did kill a fellow guinea pig and almost did the same thing to Potter...severe bite marks around the neck. I know that is rare, but it did happen. So, when I saw Potter "pecking" away at Frosty...I just didn't want to take the chance. I guess I am a softie at heart and try and spend quality time with each piggie every day to make up for lost companionship...not the same, I know...but I can sleep at night. :-)
DeleteThis is like getting the Sears Christmas Wish book and pouring over to decide. I took a look at the dollies on the Madame Alexander site and I like the girl Bonjour from France best. Followed by Haigh from Ireland and Gute Tag from Germany. Good plays on names there.
ReplyDeleteSo now you have to say which are your faves Vicki. Which one struck you first with an immediate need to buy?
You gals and your pigs, I have never had a guinea pig. I never knew until Lorraine mentioned showing her pigs that you could do that! Imagine the mysteries contained in the world, unbeknownst to me.
Alas, all I bought for Christmas was 4 card decks and 50 million used books.
I really used to enjoy showing my piggies and was sad that I had to give up. I do miss the friendship and fun we all used to have.
DeleteWe are not buying for Christmas this year...or so the theory goes!
Oh I like the Irish lass as well, good thing we can't get these here!
You know, Judy, I liked France right away myself! I can't wait to meet the girls, give them proper names, and find just the right living space for them...
DeleteGuinea pigs are so much like Capybaras...one of my favorite animals...and I just love them!
I would say acquiring 50 million books is quite an amazing way to celebrate Christmas...
Hi, These dolls look great. Have they got jointed knees and elbows? I am also interested in buying some. Do you have the address of the site? Thanks. I also like guinea pigs. At the moment I have some tadpoles to see if they stay alive and turn into frogs. Bye, Karen
ReplyDeletehttp://www.madamealexander.com/18-inch-dolls/travel-friends-7-play-dolls.html/ They do have jointed knees and elbows...I can't wait to meet the girls in "person". Good luck with your tadpoles!
DeleteHi Again, I re read the above and they are jointed!! Great... now how many will I order???
ReplyDeleteI am eager to hear who you decide to have come live with you!
