Memorial Day in Hittyville

Lewis has the honor of playing "Taps" on this special day.

He has been studying under Master Trumpeter, Jim Benshoff.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude today and every day in memory of those fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Mother's Day in Hittyville

 The Elliott Family celebrated this special day for Mom with a gift of flowers...

The Merry Family surprised their Mother with a backyard picnic...

~Here's hoping all of our beloved visitors had a great Mother's Day~

Dandelion Days

 Princess Dandelion and Lewis are busy inspecting the dandelions and making sure they are getting enough water and sunlight.

They are very happy with their bumper crop this year.

 Grandpa Hardy's special breed of little cows produce the most delicious dandelion milk in all of Hittyville.

Grandmother Gnome is instructing her wee granddaughter on the do's and don'ts of dandelion picking.  Just the right flower must be chosen to make medicinal dandelion tea which cures most everything.

Dandelion Season is very important to our Hittyville Friends.

The Daydreamer

  Betsy, Tacy, and Tib are looking forward to their annual trip to Hittyville's Lilac Bush tomorrow to view and enjoy the fragrance of their favorite flower.

The Friends agree to meet at the Climbing Rocks in Hittyville Pond Park.

  Betsy is composing a poem to herself about the lovely Spring Lilacs in honor of their upcoming visit.

The next day...

  Tacy and Tib wonder where Betsy is.  They know she looks forward to the Lilac Bush visit all winter long, but they also know Betsy has a habit of daydreaming and doesn't always listen.

The Friends decide to head to the Lilac Bush where they are sure they will find Betsy.

Meanwhile...

Betsy is in Lilac Heaven and imagining what it must be like to be a bird sitting on a Lilac Bush branch day in and day out surrounded by the sweetest aroma in the world. 

She sure hopes Tacy and Tib show up to share this amazing experience and wonders what could possibly be keeping them!

Planning

 The Hittyville Artists are busy deciding what to do with their wonderful new space.

Bella and Gwendolyn think the upstairs should be for Artists who want a bit of quiet while they create...

Vicki and Betty agree the first floor will serve as a conversation area as well as a work space.

Now to gather everything together so they can use the studio as soon as possible!

Progress

 The Hittyville Friends are thrilled!  Joe has finished building their long awaited Art From the Heart Studio.

 The ladies want to decorate the outside of their studio first.

Later...

 Betty, Vicki, Bella, and Gwendolyn are happily tired and so pleased with their work.

 The handsome cat appears to have adopted the studio as his home and the Friends decided to name him...quite appropriately...Picasso.

Vicki is eager to organize the inside of the studio and everyone agrees to meet in the morning and get started!

Meet Hittyville's Very Own Walton Family

 Long ago, there was a Walton Family who lived in Virginia at the foot of Walton's Mountain.

 Today, another Walton Family lives in the Borough of Hittyville Township near the Little Happy River and Critter Hollow.

Some Happy Changes

My "Evolution" year has led me to some major blog changes.

This blog will now be home to the Adventures of my Hittyville Friends only.

I have decided to put my own personal thoughts, art projects, daily doings, etc. in yet another blog...Vicki of Hittyville...See My Blog List.

I enjoy the Facebook experience for connecting to family and friends, but blogging is the best place for me to share my creative adventures!
